Gabbard, Ratcliffe ‘Lied’ Under Oath to Congress

Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Wednesday said he “lied” to the Senate Intelligence Committee under oath when the Director of National Intelligence and Director of CIA John Ratcliffe, under oath, rejected information classified as a signaling group chat on military strikes against Hausis.

Co-host host Mika Brzezinski said, “Senator, now these text messages released by Atlantic answer some of the questions that Jeffrey reports cannot answer yesterday?”

Warner said, “Well, answer the question that they believe they lied when they said, 'Oh, nothing here, there's no classification'. One of the witnesses tried to hedge a little later, which may be a defensive classification, but we have to be stupid not to realize that Jeffrey is on the huge classification level that if the one that was just laid out is in the enemy's hands and resumes the attack, American lives could be lost. ”

“And the reason I say it's a pattern is that in the first two weeks of the administration, we misreleased the names of 200 new CIA agents. Those individuals, if their identities are known, now they don't train hundreds of thousands of dollars. The sloppyness and incompetence I think reflects this administration's approach, at least towards sensitive information.”
