Gabbard to join Trump allies at Army-Navy game

Tulsi Gabbard, President-elect Trump's nominee for director of national intelligence, is scheduled to join the president-elect for Saturday's Army-Navy game, a person familiar with the situation tells NewsNation's Libby Dean.

The annual game is held in Landover, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C.

Gabbard will attend with Pete Hegseth, President Trump's nominee for secretary of defense, and is also expected to meet with the president-elect at the game. washington post Hegseth's attendance was first reported.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is also scheduled to attend the game.

Gabbard has recently been in the spotlight for courting senators ahead of her confirmation hearing about her position in the Trump administration. But nearly a half-dozen sources suggested to The Hill that the former Hawaii congressman faces an uphill battle as he meets with lawmakers.

His nomination has raised concerns among some of America's closest allies about whether the United States remains a reliable partner with whom to share critical and sensitive information.

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, who is also attending the rival showdown, confirmed Friday that he had invited Daniel Penny, a Marine Corps veteran who was recently acquitted of manslaughter in New York City, to the game.
