The parents of murderer Brian Landry allegedly “scattered and renovated” his son’s room while he was missing.
Nicole Schmidt sat down on their podcast with Taylor Lautner and his wife, Tay. Squeeze, This week we discussed her daughter’s story and said she recently came across a spectacular claim to Landrys.
“I actually found some new information a few days ago,” Schmidt claimed.
“I didn’t actually know their names, but it’s better – it said that when Brian went missing and he was hiding, he wasn’t actually dead, but his room was completely broken and refurbished. His belongings were no longer there.”
She said the week her daughter went missing, “I think the officers went to their house and tried to add fragrance from the dog to find Brian.
“The room was completely empty and we were gone,” Schmidt said.
An unidentified individual who claimed to be at home during that time told Schmidt that it was obvious that he was “wrong” with Laundry’s mother, Roberta.
“They said there was something wrong with her mother, who apparently didn’t go well mentally. I didn’t even know about it so it seems they’re adding it to the list,” she said.
Schmidt said she drives her as “absolutely crazy” when she tries to figure out how to “pay for what they did.”
“There’s really nothing I can do,” she said.
Roberta Landry is suspected of helping his son creep in, and law enforcement has focused on him as a key suspect in Gabby Petit’s 2021 murder.
His parents also refused to work with authorities to provide information about their son’s whereabouts.
Schmidt took the stage at Crimicon 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee in June, saying his daughter’s murderer had forgiven what he did.
“When I say Brian, I’ll talk here for myself, I’ll forgive you,” she said.
“I need to free myself from the chains of anger and bitterness, and I refuse to let your slutty acts define the rest of my life.”
But when it comes to Roberta, she believed that “there is no regret in your heart.”
“As for you, Roberta, and I will call you individually because you are the mastermind who shattered your family and my evil ways. I don’t see any empathy in your eyes,” Schmidt said.
“Your heart has no regrets and you have no willingness to take responsibility for your actions.”
Petty’s family is said to have learned that Landrys had murdered his daughter and after returning home on his own from the trip the two were going, he tried to hide the ominous act after he avoided justice.
Laundry’s parents admitted they deposited concerns about Petty’s welfare after his son appeared unstable on the phone shortly after the murder.
Laundry drove from Wyoming to his Florida home, where he abandoned Petty’s body.
After returning home, he went to camp with his parents, his sister and her children.
The 22-year-old body was found in Grand Teton National Park on September 19, 2021, and investigators determined her cause of death as strangulation.
Laundry, 23, later committed suicide, and his body was found in a natural park in Florida along with his backpack and notebook, along with a confession about killing Petit.
