Florida’s sheriffs have been in the news lately for their no-nonsense approach as liberal cities come under fire for enacting pro-crime policies such as eliminating cash bail and reducing incarceration. The Lee County Sheriff is no exception.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno, originally from New York, has taken a tough stance on criminals who think they can “play” in his county, warning that he will “hunt them down.” The sheriff accused the liberal city of trying to take a tough stance on criminal activity.
“My message is… clear: If you think you can sell poison or commit a crime, stay away from Lee County and the entire state of Florida. We are ready, we will absolutely find you and hunt you down. , to enforce the scope of the law,” he said in an interview with FOX News Digital.
He said he’s also noticed far-left people fleeing New York and California and heading to Florida in search of the safety net laid out by the DeSantis administration. But then, the sheriff claimed, they would begin voting for the same political views that had turned their town into anarchy.

And they come to states like Florida, where they have law and order, but they don’t change their minds. ” he said. “You left a place where there was chaos where people could rob, steal, loot, do drugs in a safe haven. And you were angry that it was so bad there. , and here we are still doing the same thing. Same action, same result.”
The sheriff sent a clear message to those who continue to vote for far-left policies: return to the lawless state of the past.
“I always tell people, but it’s probably not popular with some people. If you don’t like living by law and order, have a nice day. Get out. Get back where you came from. Because we don’t want you here.” “We welcome you to our great state of Florida. But if you think illegality will lead the way, criminals.” If you believe that people should roam the streets, stealing and robbing and, God forbid, poisoning and killing innocent people, then you do it.” Not who we want here. You can go back and live illegally. ”
