Garrett Wilson's recovery schedule after his knee sprain is outlined.

Garrett Wilson’s Injury Update

Garrett Wilson didn’t manage to catch a ball during the game against the Browns on Sunday—marking the first time that has happened in his career. Unfortunately, he reinjured his knee and had to leave the game in the third quarter.

Earlier, Wilson had strained his right knee and missed a couple of games. He tried to make a comeback on Sunday but ended up leaving after running into a knee while going for a catch.

Jets manager Aaron Glenn mentioned that Wilson underwent tests on Monday but didn’t specify if he’d be fit to face the Patriots on Thursday. Reports suggest that Wilson might be out for three to four weeks due to a knee sprain. Glenn was hesitant to predict the exact timeline for his recovery.

“We go through the whole process, right up to imaging,” Glenn said. “We need to consult with a doctor to get a clear picture of what’s going on. I want him to be healthy and ready for this week, but I can’t make any judgments just yet.”

During the game, Wilson was seen on a stationary bike after a medical examination, but Glenn stated that this shouldn’t be interpreted in any particular way.

“I just want to hear what the doctors say before jumping to conclusions. You know, during games, you’re often running on adrenaline, but once it’s done, everything calms down a bit. Then we reassess,” Glenn said.

On another note, rookie cornerback Azaleye Thomas has already been confirmed out for Thursday’s game due to a concussion. It was a concerning moment when he collided with teammate Jamien Sherwood and was down for several minutes.

Jarvis Brownlee Jr. will take over Thomas’s position, with Malachi Moore stepping into the nickel corner role, where Brownlee usually plays. Isaiah Oliver also safely made it through. Expect the Jets to have a similar lineup for Thursday’s match.

“Injuries and challenges are part of the game. Whoever steps in knows the play style we adhere to,” Glenn commented. “I’m not one to make excuses regarding injuries; my focus remains on how we play, and everyone knows our expectations.”

Lastly, WR Adonai Mitchell was inactive on Sunday after joining the Jets from the Colts as part of the Sauce Gardner trade earlier in the week.

“We wanted him to build confidence before throwing him into action where he might make mistakes,” Glenn stated. “I believe he’ll align well with our strategies after another week of learning.”
