In a reporting statement, Newsom's Office said:
Governor Gavin Newsom today issued an executive order by July 1, 2025, requiring all agencies and departments within the administration to update their hybrid telework policy to a default of at least four days a week. This order establishes a 4-day forecast per 4 days. Obligation.
To further strengthen the state's workforce needs, the governor has also directed the CALHR to streamline the hiring process for former federal employees seeking employment in key roles, including fire service, forest management and weather forecasting.
Democrats laughed at Doge and demonized it, but it appears they're copying one of their signature policy interventions.
