GBP/JPY Price Forecast: Technical Outlook
Recent price movements indicate the formation of a bearish ‘evening star’ pattern. This suggests sellers are gaining traction, pushing the GBP/JPY lower as it approaches yearly lows. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) reflects bearish momentum and appears close to being oversold again, hinting at a building downside pressure.
The immediate support for GBP/JPY stands at 207.10, the swing low from September 8. If this level is broken, it could continue the trend of lower highs and lower lows, bringing into play a low from December 16, 2025, at 206.73, and potentially driving the pair down to the psychological level of 205.00.
Conversely, should GBP/JPY rise above the September 16 high of 209.47, it could lead to a movement toward 210.00. Further strength might target the swing high from September 4 at 211.82, just below the 212.00 mark.
