Gear Up, More Migrant Buses on the Way

Texas is telling mayors of sanctuary cities in other states to “be prepared” as “more migrant buses are leaving.” Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered more buses to transport migrants being released onto the streets in border areas.

“I am asking the Texas Emergency Management Agency to send these migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities and provide much-needed relief to crowded border towns,” Gov. Abbott said in a written statement Friday. We have instructed them to deploy additional buses.” “Until President Biden upholds his constitutional obligation to secure America’s southern border, Texas will continue to deploy as many buses as necessary to ease the burden of the surge in illegal border crossings.”

The governor ordered the Texas Emergency Management Agency to increase the number of buses available to transport migrants released onto the streets of border towns to sanctuary cities in other states. So far, these cities include Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles.

TDEM spokesperson Seth Christensen told Breitbart Texas on Saturday that “Texas is providing relief to border communities overwhelmed by the huge number of migrants being processed by the federal government and released onto the streets. We can use as many buses as we need to do that.”

In the first three weeks of September, Border Patrol apprehended approximately 87,000 migrants who crossed the border into five Texas-based border regions. This is an average of more than 4,100 migrants per day since September 1.

Texas-based units account for nearly 60% of all migrants apprehended along the southwest border with Mexico, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas.

Christensen told Breitbart that buses are fairly constant from the Rio Grande Valley sector cities of Brownsville and McAllen. This month, the RGV division has been the busiest of any Texas-based division, arresting more than 31,000 immigrants in three weeks, reports show.

The Del Rio and El Paso divisions had slightly fewer apprehensions than the RGV division, which had nearly 29,000 and 25,000, respectively.

“As President Biden continues to refuse to secure our border, thousands of illegal immigrants are flowing into Texas and our country every day,” Governor Abbott said. “Texas communities like Eagle Pass and El Paso should not have to endure an unprecedented surge in illegal immigration caused by President Biden’s reckless open border policies.”

The Texas Governor’s Office reported:

Governor Abbott in April 2022 Directed TDEM Charter transportation for immigrants processed by the federal government and released into Texas communities. In order for immigrants to board the bus, they must meet the following conditions:Volunteers being transported and present documents regarding their release from the Department of Homeland Security.

To date, the following buses are operating in Texas:

Since Mr. Abbott began busing migrants to these sanctuary cities, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has become an outspoken critic of the Biden administration’s policies on border security and immigration.

Three days ago, Mayor Adams warned President Joe Biden about the “tremendous toll” “asylum seekers” were taking on the city, Breitbart’s Elaine Maron reported. His warning comes as the president prepares to travel to New York City for meetings at the United Nations.

“President Biden is coming to town,” Adams said Thursday. “New York doesn’t deserve this. Asylum seekers don’t deserve this.”

However, the president did not meet with the outspoken mayor. Instead, he met with New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

“I had a very productive conversation with President Biden tonight regarding his specific request for assistance on the migrant crisis. I also commended him for his leadership at the United Nations today,” Hochul said on X (previously on Twitter ) posted.

Since launching its immigrant bus program in April 2022, Texas has bused more than 40,000 immigrants to Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles.
