“He stated that he had taken a biology class and knew where to put the stab for maximum effect,” Judd said.
Sheriff Judd went on to say that Manny was “a genius and extremely talented.”
Sheriff Judd said he stabbed his mother more than 70 times and stabbed her again when she tried to get off the ground.

Sheriff Judd said Manny was the youngest of three children and valedictorian of the 2020 Frostproof class. He said that he is said to be a “genius.”

“This is one of the strangest murder cases we’ve dealt with in a long time,” Judd said. “And seeing that he left behind a family that loved him, a mother who just adores her children, who is at this very moment at Ben Hill Griffin Elementary School, creating a future, teaching second graders… It’s incomprehensible that we should have educated them about what happened that day. ”
Manny Espinoza was booked into the Polk County Jail and charged with first-degree murder.
