Changes continue Seattle Seahawks.
Earlier this week, the team parted ways with veteran wide receiver Tyler Rockett and gave fellow wideout DK Metcalf permission to seek trade. That led to questions about whether Geno Smith will be throwing the ball next year, past Jackson Smith Nigba.
Well, in an incredible “Friday Night News Dump,” the Seahawks answered that question.
What do you think? Las Vegas Raiders Tight end Block Bowers?
According to multiple reports, the Seahawks are trading Smith with the Raiders for a three-round selection. This gives the Raiders the quarterback they need to add this offseason, opening up a lot of additional questions for Seattle.
Give me some grades.

This is a big move for the Raiders.
Las Vegas had to make a move at quarterback after rolling in with Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell last season. Sitting sixth in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Raiders could potentially deal with the position with a pick at the location. Minority owner Tom Brady praised Chedur Sanders during the draft process, but will add Smith in exchange for a third pick to handle that need.
Smith remains on his current contract for a year, but the Raiders have the second cap space available in the NFL, allowing them room for new deals with the new QB.
The move also gives the Raiders more options with that pick in the first round. The Raiders were able to go in several different directions, even in packaging that picks picks instead of forcing a pick at quarterback or to ahead of other QB Needy teams in the draft. Other team needs include wide receivers and running backs, as well as players like Arizona WR Tetaro Amakumillan and stomp Ashton Janti from Boise State options at that location.
And if they see QBs later in the draft, which the Raiders liked as the development project behind Smith, this gives them the option to go that path.
Additionally, The Move reunites Seattle head coach Pete Carroll and Smith during the veteran QB's revival in the Pacific Northwest.
This is a great move for Las Vegas.

Conversely, this move by the Seahawks left more questions than answers.
Ultimately, this may be a movement that will look better once the entire plan is in place. But at this point, this appears to be completely tearing down in Seattle. On the way out of town with Rocket, Smith and perhaps Metcalf, this looks like a refresh of the Seahawks' complete roster.
But then came reports that the Seahawks were considering bringing in a fresh Sam Darnold from his own revival with Seattle over the past year.
Do you have any major visions here?
This movement, taken in a vacuum, is a head scratcher. It may be aging over time, but at this point I'm wondering what the big picture is in Seattle.
