George Clooney Called for Biden to Drop Out, Now Says His Exit Most Selfless Act Since George Washington

Hollywood actor George Clooney on Sunday praised President Joe Biden's “selfless” move to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

Clooney, speaking at the Venice Film Festival in northern Italy, said in July The New York Times In his op-ed, he urged President Joe Biden to withdraw from the election following his disastrous performance in the debate.

It was unclear which “selfless” act of America's first president the actor was referring to.

“So all of the maneuvering that got us there will not be remembered at all — and should not be remembered at all,” Clooney, one of the Democratic Party's leading fundraisers, said of the alleged pressure exerted on the president to resign.

“What should be remembered is this selfless act of someone who finds it very difficult to give up power. We know that, we've seen it all around the world,” he said.



“Anyone who says they think there's a better way should get all the credit,” Clooney added.

“And that's so true, and everything else will fade away and be forgotten,” he said. “So I'm very proud of where the world is right now, and I think we're all very excited about the future.”
