‘George Clooney Clearly Expressed What Many of Us Have Been Saying’

Rob Reiner has stepped up his calls for Joe Biden to not seek reelection and praised fellow Hollywood star George Clooney in an op-ed for The New York Times this week.

Rob Reiner, one of Joe Biden’s most staunch Hollywood fundraisers and influencers, has consistently defended the president since the last election, even calling him the best president in more than 40 years.

But it all ended with Biden’s humiliating debate performance, in which the president froze up multiple times, frequently lost his train of thought and slurred gibberish (“We finally won Medicare”), stunning tens of millions of viewers.

Reiner declared Sunday that it’s time for Biden to “step down,” a call he echoed on Wednesday when Clooney’s op-ed was published. “We need someone younger to fight back. Joe Biden should step down,” Reiner wrote.

Since the debate, Reiner has expressed hope that Biden might bounce back from it, offering cautious praise for the president’s recent phone interview with Morning Joe, which he said could be a sign of recovery.

Immediately after the debate, he tried to downplay Biden’s abysmal performance, insisting he was still a “good, decent person.”

But Reiner appeared to put those possibilities aside on Wednesday, backing Clooney’s call for Biden to resign.

As Breitbart News reported, another one of Biden’s key Hollywood figures has also changed her mind: actress Mia Farrow declared on Wednesday that it’s time for the president to withdraw from the race and “pass the baton.”
