George Clooney describes Presley Gerber's death as extremely upsetting for the family

George Clooney Reflects on the Loss of Presley Gerber

George Clooney recently addressed the heartbreaking loss of Presley Gerber during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The 65-year-old actor, who is a close friend of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, shared insights into the family’s deep sorrow, saying, “I don’t think we’re even in the position of being able to talk about it.” He went on to describe Presley’s death as one of the most devastating events for their family, noting that, “as you can imagine, it’s the worst thing that could ever happen to a family.”

Presley passed away on September 20 in a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica. He was only 27 years old and had checked into Resolutions Living just a day prior, on September 19.

Clooney has been a longtime friend of the Gerber family, and he co-founded Casamigos Tequila with Rande Gerber, often referred to as “Uncle George” by the Gerber children. Following Presley’s passing, George and his wife, Amal, were seen arriving at Kaia Gerber’s home in Los Angeles.

Sources indicated to The Daily Mail that Clooney had a close relationship with Presley and was in regular contact with him. One source mentioned, “George would spend hours talking to Presley.” They added that George had a caring nature and would do anything for Rande’s family.

Particularly after Presley experienced a DUI in 2018, Clooney advised him, saying, “Don’t do that, it’s not smart. Be careful.” He would also send encouraging messages, such as, “I am here for you.”

In the months leading up to his death, Presley shared on Instagram that he was preparing for an “ibogaine flood dose,” a psychedelic treatment at a wellness clinic in Cancún, Mexico. He admitted feeling “absolutely terrified” but recognized that “letting go of control didn’t come easy,” while also expressing a sense of being guided by something greater.

He wrote that he was “facing what I had been running from” and began to find his way back to himself, hoping it would be the last time he needed such treatment.
