George Clooney Debuts Natural Gray at Tony Awards

George Clooney was in full “Silver Fox” mode at the 2025 Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Accompanying him was his wife, Amal Clooney, and the actor, now 64, opted to showcase his natural gray hair.

Earlier that day, Clooney finished his role in a play and promptly reverted to his original hair color. He had previously dyed it a dark brown for the theater role, which won him a nomination. During a recent appearance on “Late Night with Seth Myers,” he humorously described his hair situation. “That’s bad. It’s still dark on the top, but gray on the bottom,” he mentioned, referring to the visible growth beneath his hat.

Though he had a bit of a hair crisis—admitting he hadn’t dyed it in about two months—Clooney was confident that his look would be fixed in time for the awards. He quipped about his age saying, “I’m 64 years old—middle-aged is a bit stretchy.”

In the background, concerns were rising regarding potential sanctions that could affect his family under the Trump administration due to Amal’s work as a human rights lawyer. Reports have indicated that she provided legal advice related to a war crimes case involving prominent Israeli leaders, which could put them in a complicated spot legally.

The couple enjoys a lively lifestyle, but recent developments have stirred discussions about their future in the U.S. Amal, who has roots in Lebanon, is well-respected in her field and has faced challenges tied to her work.

The Clooneys married in 2014, and their family grew in 2017 with the birth of their twins. As they navigate their careers and family life, they continue to capture public interest, especially during high-profile events like the Tony Awards.
