George Clooney, who reportedly called the White House earlier this month to complain about the president’s criticism of the International Criminal Court (ICC), is due to rumble with President Biden at a star-studded fundraiser in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

The gala, which will be held at the Peacock Theatre on Saturday night and will feature Hollywood A-listers such as Julia Roberts, is expected to bring in millions of dollars, with tickets ranging from $250 a person for admission up to $500,000 for special access, photo opportunities with Biden and former President Barack Obama and invitations to the after-party.

Biden arrives directly after meeting with world leaders at the G7 summit in Italy this week. Saturday’s visit to Los Angeles means he will miss a summit in Switzerland aimed at ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, which Vice President Kamala Harris will attend representing the US.

Clooney’s appearance comes after he was reported to have called the White House earlier this month to complain about the president’s criticism of the ICC’s pursuit of an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a case being handled by Clooney’s wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.

As previously reported, the Oscar-winning actor called presidential adviser Steve Ricchetti to protest President Biden’s decision to reject the ICC’s request for arrest warrants targeting Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

According to The Washington Post, Clooney was particularly upset that the Biden administration was initially willing to impose ICC sanctions because of the possibility that his wife would be punished. First reported talking.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House and Clooney’s representatives for comment.

Obama will accompany Clooney and Roberts to the fundraiser on Saturday, and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will interview them all onstage. In a text message sent to donors ahead of time, Roberts called it a “critical time in the election.” Kimmel wrote in his own text that Republican front-runner Donald Trump “is going to hate this, so let’s do it.”
