Heavyweight champion George Foreman passed away at the age of 76, his family announced Friday.
Foreman died surrounded by his loved ones, his family said.
“Our hearts are broken,” the family wrote in an Instagram post. “In profound sadness, we announce the death of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr., surrounded by our loved ones who left peace on March 21, 2025.”

“A venerable preacher, devoted husband, loving father and a proud grand, great grandfather, he lived a life characterized by unwavering faith, humility and purpose,” the Post continued.
“A humanitarian, Olympian and two-time heavyweight champion of the world, he was deeply respected. He was the protector of his power, discipline, belief, and his legacy, fighting his good name exhausted and for his family.
His family said, “We appreciate the pouring of love and prayer and respect the extraordinary lives of those who are blessed to call ourselves, so please kindly ask for privacy.”
