in san francisco 49ers'Third Possession vs. Sunday new england patriotstheir offense had two touchdowns negated by penalties.
George Kittle was determined to score his third touchdown stick.
First, what would have been a 38-yard touchdown pass from Brock Purdy to running back Jordan Mason was negated by a holding penalty on Kittle. A potential touchdown strike from Purdy to Kyle Juszczyk was then taken off the board by an illegal shift.
Later, as the 49ers faced third-and-10 at the Patriots' own 12-yard line, Purdy looked in Kittle's direction on a corner route in the deep left corner of the end zone. Somehow the tight end dove on top of a trio of New England defenders, resulting in this incredible touchdown.
In addition to a bit of redemption for Kittle, who was called for a holding penalty early in the drive, Purdy was finally able to celebrate a touchdown on the drive.
He also made sure to say hello to his mother.
So far this afternoon is all about San Francisco, with the 49ers currently leading 20-0 over the visiting Patriots.
