George Kittle pokes fun at Ricky Pearsall after March Madness surprise loss

George Kittle didn’t exactly offer Ricky Pearsall comfort after Pearsall’s college team faced a surprising defeat in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

In fact, the Niners tight end seemed to enjoy adding to Pearsall’s disappointment.

Not long after Iowa, Kittle’s former school, secured a close 73-72 victory over Florida in Tampa, he took to Instagram to poke fun at Pearsall.

To start, he posted a simple line.

“Haha @ricky.pearsall,” Kittle said in his Story. “Go hawk.”

Then, a meme featuring Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore popped up, showing him playfully attacking an alligator.

“Oh, I’m so sorry,” Kittle commented alongside the meme.

When Pearsall pointed out that Florida had won the national championship the previous year, Kittle delivered even more playful jabs.

“I can keep trolling for at least a year,” he added. “I’m good.”

Kittle also made sure to leave a comment on Pearsall’s latest post, writing, “Let’s go hawkish.”

Meanwhile, while Pearsall might not have loved the teasing, Kittle and his fellow Hawkeye alum definitely had their reasons to gloat.

The No. 9 seed Iowa, which entered the tournament as underdogs, managed to pull off a significant upset thanks to Alvaro Folgueiras hitting a crucial three-pointer in the final moments.

Looking ahead, the Hawkeyes will face Nebraska in the Sweet 16 on Thursday, and former Cornhusker Luke Gifford, a Pro Bowler with the Niners, will surely be watching closely.
