Nashville Training Event for 49ers
Nashville, Tennessee – The San Francisco 49ers got back into their regular routine on Tuesday by participating in the annual Tight End University event. This year’s gathering took place in Nashville.
Tight end George Kittle had quite an offseason, securing a substantial four-year contract extension valued at $74.6 million, with $35 million guaranteed. This contract not only makes him one of the highest-paid tight ends in the game but extends through the 2029 season. And honestly, he’s really investing a lot into it.
Kittle emerged as one of the top tight ends during the last season, even earning a Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors back in 2018. Since then, he’s become essential to the 49ers’ offensive strategy.
In the 2024 season, Kittle recorded 78 catches for 1,106 yards along with eight touchdowns. Overall, his stats speak for themselves: 538 catches for 7,380 yards and 45 touchdowns over 113 career games with San Francisco.
Kittle joined a host of other tight ends at the event, including Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and three-time Pro Bowler Greg Olsen. This trio launched Tight End University in 2021, creating opportunities for players at various career stages to connect, learn, and collaborate. Activities included film study, field drills, and rehabilitation.
His involvement at this event was just a snapshot of what was on offer this year. Kittle’s presence certainly added to the excitement and camaraderie among participants.
