George Kittle and his wife Claire enjoyed a date night Monday at the place where their love story began.
The couple originally met as freshmen at the University of Iowa during Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes’ second-round win over West Virginia in the women’s NCAA tournament in Iowa City, Iowa.
“Happy March crazy @gkittle,” Claire wrote on her Instagram Story on Monday. “Thank you for coming home with me.”
Kittle, who played on the Hawkeyes’ football team, waved to fans inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena and watched Iowa State’s 64-54 victory with Claire, a former member of the women’s basketball team.
Another photo posted to Kittle’s Instagram Story showed the 49ers star tight end posing for a photo with Clark, 22, while rocking a jersey with Claire’s maiden name, Till. .
“We’re back in Carver!” Kittle, 30, captioned the post, tagging Claire and Clark’s Instagram handles.
Monday’s contest was Clark’s last home game, and he recorded 32 points and eight rebounds to help top-seeded Iowa advance to the Sweet 16.
“If I had to force myself to get off the court, I wouldn’t have left the court,” Clark said. “I think the most important thing is just to be grateful. [to the fans]. I am always grateful. ”
But the second-round matchup between Iowa and No. 8 West Virginia was not without controversy, as some college basketball fans expressed disappointment with the officiating. West Virginia was called for 27 personal fouls compared to 11 for Iowa State.
Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard: “I feel like the West Virginia women’s team is being treated badly by the referees.” I wrote to X.
Iowa State will now travel to Albany to take on No. 5 Colorado State on Saturday.
No matter where Kittles ends up this weekend, he’ll likely be rooting for Iowa as the Hawkeyes aim to reach the Final Four.

The 49ers advanced to the 2024 Super Bowl in February, facing the reigning champion Chiefs.
San Francisco held a 10-3 lead at halftime, but Kansas City led 25-22 in overtime.
