George Lombard Jr., a rookie shortstop for the Yankees, and Jackie Taylor, daughter of the late Sean Taylor who played safety for the Redskins, have reportedly been dating since at least January 2025. This comes from several affectionate photos they’ve shared on Instagram.
The couple, who were seen embracing as they enjoyed a sunset by the ocean, seem very comfortable together, with one of the photos capturing them on a paddle board.
In another picture, Lombard showed his support for Taylor during a volleyball game at UNC Chapel Hill, wearing a sweatshirt featuring her image. Taylor has also curated a highlight reel on her social media labeled “My people,” which includes a snapshot of them celebrating Valentine’s Day in 2025.
Expressing her feelings, Taylor captioned a photo, “I love you.”
They made an appearance at the Sean Taylor Legacy Project event during the NFC Championship Game in January 2025, where they were photographed alongside Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Jackie leads the Sean Taylor Legacy Project, which honors her father, who tragically passed away in November 2007 at just 24 years old due to a robbery attempt at his home. She’s remained connected with the Washington Commanders organization since his passing.
There are hints that Lombard and Taylor may have started dating in 2024, as they both attended Gulliver Prep High School in Miami. In her highlight reel, she also acknowledged his achievements, like his promotion from High-A Hudson Valley to Double-A Somerset when he was just 19 in May 2025.
With pride and a heart emoji, she wrote, “No one more deserving! So proud of you!”
Lombard is currently adapting to the major leagues after moving up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this August. Recently, he reposted a celebration of Taylor’s impressive 165 blocks last season, making her the third in program history for the UNC women’s volleyball team.
After leaving a recent game early due to discomfort in his right knee, the 21-year-old shortstop is said to be “day to day,” although scans showed no significant injury.
The Yankees are set to start a three-game series against the Angels in Los Angeles on Monday.
