Owens Picks Pickens Over Lamb
SAN FRANCISCO — Terrell Owens is clear in his opinion: George Pickens is “better” than CeeDee Lamb when it comes to Cowboys receivers.
During a chat with the California Post this Super Bowl week, Owens expressed that if he had to decide between the two, it wouldn’t be a tough call at all.
“They’re both great receivers,” Owens mentioned. “But I think [Pickens’] catching ability, his range, and his knack for making plays when there’s none to be made sets him apart. He brings more to the table as a deep threat and a playmaker.”
The former Cowboys star, who is now aligning his career ambitions with Dak Prescott, has high hopes for a contract extension with Pickens, who will be a free agent in 2025.
“He made his case,” said Owens while on Radio Row this week. “The numbers don’t lie. You don’t need to say much. The proof is right there. This has been his best year, which is what Pittsburgh was looking for from him.”
The Cowboys picked up the 24-year-old from the Steelers last May, and he delivered an impressive season with 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.
While there’s talk about a franchise contract from the Cowboys, if he’s to sign long-term, he’s likely to demand over $30 million per year.
Lamb, currently on a four-year, $136 million contract with Dallas, recently stated that he isn’t concerned if Pickens ends up with a larger contract. “I just want my husband to get what he deserves,” he said.
