Lying former congressman George Santos denounced his former New York Republican colleague in Congress after Republican Maj Pilip was defeated in a special election for a vacant Long Island Congressional seat.
The truth-seeking politician accused his former colleagues of running a “hateful” campaign to expel him from parliament last year after he was caught up in a gang of ethics violations. The move further singled out the Republican majority, but Santos served as a reminder to his new opponents.
“I hope you are satisfied with this pathetic performance and the $10 million you spent at the party,” Santos sent a message to a group chat of former colleagues, saying, This was confirmed by multiple offices of the newspaper.
“I am very much looking forward to seeing most of you defeated by an absolutely hateful campaign to arbitrarily remove me from Congress. Please tell me what you did and good luck.
Raise funds next quarter. ”
Santos’s battle cry for his former comrades, The Daily Beast reported.
The former congressman declined to support a candidate to replace Mr. Pillip. She ultimately lost to former Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.) by just under 8 points, according to the latest tallies.
This is similar to the narrow margin that President Biden won in New York’s 3rd Congressional District in 2020, when Santos lost to Suozzi by about 12.5 percentage points.
“New phone, sorry, who’s wrong?” Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-N.Y.) wrote in response to Santos’ fiery text.
On Dec. 1, Santos became the sixth lawmaker in history to be expelled following a scathing report from the House Ethics Committee that found he “blatantly stole from his campaign” and lied to donors.
Several Republican members of the Empire State’s congressional delegation supported his ouster. Santos has long been under fire since it was revealed in late 2022 that he had fabricated much of his own backstory.
He was also indicted on about 23 counts last year, including wire fraud, making material false statements to the FEC, aggravated identity theft and falsifying records.
Publicly, Santos similarly embarked on something of a revenge tour.
“To my former colleagues in the House of Representatives, please give these idiots $10 million back,” Santos chided X.
“These RINOs are the most effective Democratic operatives in the country!”
After Mr. Suozzi defeated Mr. Pilip, Democrats immediately took a victory lap, arguing that this could be a harbinger of things to come in November.
Former President Donald Trump suggested she lacked the MAGA credentials needed to win.
“Republicans just don’t learn, but maybe she was still a Democrat?” Trump lamented on his Truth Social platform. “I just saw this very stupid woman, Maji Melesa Pilip, run a race without supporting me and try to ‘straddle the fence’.”
