George Soros' luxury Southampton mansion was vandalized over the weekend as the left-handed billionaire became the latest high-profile victim of a 911 prank.
Southampton police say they received a 911 call shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday in which the caller told police he had just shot his wife and was threatening to shoot himself at their luxurious South Shore mansion. Officials were rushed to the scene.
Southampton Police Detective Herman Lamison said Monday that the report turned out to be false.

The Southampton prank was just the latest incident of swatting (fake phone calls to police to report crimes at specific addresses) targeting celebrities.
On Friday, Virginia State Police responded to the home of George Washington University law scholar Jonathan Turley after Fairfax County police received a false 911 call saying someone had been shot at the address.
“Yes, tonight I was attacked,” Turley said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this is a sign of our age, or our anger.”
On Christmas Day, police were called to the home of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) after receiving a false 911 call from a man who said he had shot his girlfriend.

Four other Georgia lawmakers were reportedly slapped the same day: Republican Sens. Jon Albers, Kay Kirkpatrick and Clint Dixon, and Democratic Sen. Kim Jackson. .
Another victim of the Christmas prank was Rep. Brandon Williams, Republican of upstate New York.
