George Springer disturbed after being hit in the head by a pitch in concerning moment

George Springer discussed with reporters how he was affected after being struck in the head by a 96 mph pitch from Cade Stroud. This incident occurred during the ninth inning of a game where the Blue Jays lost to the Orioles, 11-4, at Camden Yards on Monday night.

The impact sent him straight to the ground.

Eventually, after lying still for a moment, Springer started to move when the Blue Jays’ medical team reached him. He was heard saying “wow.”

After some time, he managed to stand up and was able to walk to the dugout with assistance from a couple of team staff members.

“He’s fine,” Schneider informed the media after the game. “I put him on my shoulder and then I got a helmet. Thankfully, he managed to spin a little too.”

Schneider expressed that the moment Springer was hit kept him on edge. “It’s one of those things that really makes you think about the human side of the game,” he remarked. “It’s scary. It happens, and it sucks.”

Following the game, Springer underwent a check-up, but the specifics of his injuries from the pitch were still unclear.

The Blue Jays are currently dealing with a concussion issue but seem to be rallying as they approach the weekend. They are also facing an injury concern with All-Star catcher Alejandro Kirk.

This season, Springer has performed well, with a batting average of .291 and 18 home runs. The Blue Jays are sitting atop the American League East, with a 5½ game lead over the Yankees.
