The announcement came less than a week after Thursday’s debate, which caused widespread panic among Democrats who criticized their party’s leading candidate Biden’s performance there, in which he appeared disoriented and froze within the first few minutes of the debate.

At several points, moderators had to tell Biden he still had time to answer questions, but Biden often used the time to revisit previously-defeated Democratic talking points, such as the “very fine people” myth and the “idiots and losers” fabrication. As documented by Breitbart News, Biden repeated the phrase “ideas” 27 times during the debate.
See — what was that?! After a week of rest and preparation, Biden made it through the debate coughing, stumbling and rambling:

While Biden’s disastrous debate performance has caused panic, some Democrats have come to his rescue, including former President Barack Obama, who urged Americans to look beyond the debate itself.
Sometimes debates go horribly. Believe me, I know. But this election is a choice between someone who has spent their whole life fighting for the common man and someone who only thinks about themselves. Someone who will tell the truth, who knows right from wrong, and tell the people that.

While Biden’s family has encouraged him to fight, some Democrats are not joining in, including Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas), who on Tuesday called on Biden to withdraw from his bid for re-election to the White House.
“For more than a year, many Americans have expressed dissatisfaction with the choice in this election,” Doggett said in a press release. “President Biden continues to trail well behind Democratic senators in key states and also behind President Donald Trump in most polls.”
“We had hoped that the debate would be the catalyst for changing that, but it did not happen,” the congressman continued. “Far from reassuring voters, the President failed to effectively defend many of his accomplishments and expose many of Mr. Trump’s lies.”
WATCH — Mace tells ABC’s Stephanopoulos he’s “trying to shame” me for my “terrible” support for Trump.
“Our first priority must be, who has the best hope of saving our democracy from a tyrannical takeover by a criminal and his allies,” he said. “The risks are too great to jeopardize a Trump victory. The risks are too great to think that we can now overturn what we couldn’t overturn in a year, what we couldn’t overturn in the debates.”
“I represent the heart of the district once represented by Lyndon Johnson,” he added. “Under very different circumstances, Johnson made the difficult decision to withdraw. President Biden should do the same.”
