George Strait Continues to Reign in Country Music
George Strait is once again proving his status as a country music icon. The legendary “Amarillo by Morning” artist has been a dominant force in the genre for decades.
There’s an old saying—many kings have worn crowns, but a true king wears a cowboy hat, right? And Strait’s latest performance reaffirms he remains an unstoppable presence in the industry.
Strait Sets Attendance Record
On Saturday, Strait performed at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, filling the venue that is home to Dabo Swinney’s football team. According to Clemson University, the crowd reached an impressive 90,037—his largest show outside of Texas, as he mentioned on Instagram. Quite the milestone!
Strait is no stranger to larger-than-life shows, thanks to his many platinum albums and numerous chart-topping hits. Just a little while ago, he set a national record with nearly 111,000 attendees at a concert in Texas A&M.
It’s interesting to see how, at 73 years old, he still manages to keep up such an energetic pace. I often wonder how he does it; I’m not sure I’d have the stamina after a long trip abroad. But he seems built differently—constantly thriving in everything he does.
This salute goes out to the king of country music, who continues to make waves in 2026. What do you think about Strait’s ongoing success?
