Georgia House Passes ‘Riley Gaines Act’ to Bar Trans-Identifying Males from Female Sports

The Georgia home passed the Riley Gaines Act on Thursday, prohibiting male athletes who identify transgender people from competing with women and girls.

The bill was named after Gaines Advocate and host of women's sports Gaines for girls Outkick podcast. Gaines has been the champion protecting women's sports ever since. She is tied with male trans-identifying athlete Lia Thomas at the women's 200 metre freestyle event at the 2022 NCAA Championship.

Georgia State Rep. vote 102-54 on the law, also known as House Bill 267, reported by Fox News.

All the votes were not from Democrats, and Zero Republicans opposed the bill. The report found that of the 10 lawmakers who voted and did not vote, nine were Democrats.

The measure is currently set to move to the Senate. The Senate passed its own version of the bill.

“Women athletes deserve fair competition, which means opportunities to maintain a different female division than the male category,” said Rep. Josh Bonner of Fayetteville, who sponsored the bill.

The Georgia High School Athletics Association prohibits students from participating in sports based on the invented concept of “gender identity.” According to a report by Fox News, 25 other states have similar laws that restrict athletes from joining teams that do not align with biological reality.

President Donald Trump issued The February 5 executive order prohibits men from playing on women's sports teams, and is a condition for federal funding for education programs.

Several states have openly rejected the order, including California, Minnesota and Maine. As a result, the Ministry of Education was established. Title IX research.
