The murder suspect, accused of strangled his Georgia mother in last week's random attack, is an illegal immigrant in Honduras who was arrested and released by the Biden administration in March 2021 on the southern border, Fox News has learned.
David Hector Rivas-Sagastume, 21, has been subject to a deportation order since July 2023, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said.
Rivas-Sagastume is charged with capital murder in the death of Camilla Williams, a 52-year-old grandmother. Her body was found to be abandoned in a wooded area, authorities said.
Williams' family told local media that the man had told her he had followed her before he was killed. Authorities have not decided on the suspect's connection with Williams.
The arrest warrant states that Rivas Sagastoum will assault Williams of Marietta, put her in a chokehold and will unconscious from March 12th between 11pm and 1am. Fox Atlanta It has been reported.
