Man Charged with Murder in Walmart Stabbing Incident
A 48-year-old man with a history of violent crimes is facing murder charges for allegedly killing a teenager at a Walmart in Savannah, Georgia.
Delano Middleton is suspected of stabbing 18-year-old JT Schroeder during a confrontation at the store on October 23rd. Reports indicate that the conflict started after Schroeder reportedly kicked Middleton’s shopping cart. Tragically, Schroeder succumbed to his wounds four days later.
Middleton, now charged with murder, has a notable criminal past. Four years ago, he was convicted for stabbing a woman multiple times, an act she described as entirely unprovoked.
A Glimpse into JT Schroeder’s Life
JT had aspirations of becoming a Marine Merchant, and according to his obituary, he had already secured a sponsor for his dream. The obituary expressed that he “deeply loved people” and had a bright smile that could “light up any room.” His generosity extended beyond his life; after his passing, he donated his organs, providing “the gift of life to seven families.”
Erica Young, the woman attacked by Middleton years prior, commented on his lenient sentencing back then, fearing it only opened doors for further violence. Reflecting on the incident involving Schroeder, she expressed regret for not advocating for a harsher punishment, saying, “I wish I had fought harder.” She feels a personal sense of loss and responsibility intertwined with the tragic outcome.
Currently, Middleton remains in custody at the Chatham County Jail with no bond. The case continues to draw public attention, highlighting ongoing concerns about violent crime and its repercussions in communities.
