Teenager’s Bond Denied Amid Allegations of Family Murders

Supporters of Sarah Grace Patrick, a Georgia teenager, are accused of targeting individuals heading to church as tensions rise following her bond denial. The 17-year-old was refused bond after being charged with the murders of her mother, Kristen Brock, and stepfather, James Brock, at their Carroll County home in February.

During an emotional two-hour bond hearing, prosecutors expressed concerns for witness safety, particularly regarding Patrick’s five-year-old sister, who discovered the bodies. They argued that keeping her in custody was essential given the nature of the allegations.

Family members of the victims also urged the judge to keep Patrick in jail until her trial, citing fears for their safety following the violent incident. Kim Bowling, the stepfather’s sister, expressed her anxiety: “If she can kill her own parents so violently, I worry for my own family,” she said.

Amidst the courtroom drama, Patrick’s brother-in-law, Tristen Brock, struggled with emotion as he referred to his father as “my superman,” implying Patrick might attempt to flee if given the chance.

Supporters of Patrick were seen wearing T-shirts advocating for her, portraying her as a young woman without any prior criminal history. One supporter argued, “Hurting someone isn’t in her nature. She’s always been kind and respectful.” A pastor who knows Patrick mentioned her active involvement in church and her call from jail to seek prayers for strength.

Despite these endorsements, the judge sided with the prosecutors, labeling Patrick a significant flight risk and a potential threat to witnesses. “This isn’t a courtroom drama; we’re here to perform our legal duty,” Judge Jeffrey Hightower emphasized.

Patrick is being tried as an adult and surrendered to authorities after a murder warrant was issued. Reports indicated there was substantial evidence linking her to the crimes. Initially, it was stated that she had shot her mother and stepfather while they slept.

Following the incident, Patrick called 911 and later posted on social media, expressing grief and asking for prayers for healing. She has even reached out to a true crime influencer, seeking assistance in investigating the case.

Amid the complex narrative, one influencer recalled a message from Patrick detailing her struggle, as she navigated hearings and media attention. Patrick now faces two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault, with a trial date set for January 5, 2026, if charged as a major juvenile for the murder.
