Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez Get Engaged

Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo is adding a new ring to his collection—this time, it’s for his long-time girlfriend. Ronaldo, who is 40, and Georgina Rodriguez announced their engagement on Monday.

Rodriguez took to Instagram to showcase an impressive oval engagement ring, paired with heartfelt captions in Spanish. Translated, her caption reads, “Yes, yes. In this and in my life.” It’s kind of sweet, really.

This isn’t the first time engagement rumors have swirled around the couple, especially since they were previously seen with the ring. However, this is the first time she’s shared it publicly.

Fans might remember the couple’s debut together at the best FIFA football awards back in January 2017. Since then, they’ve shared quite a journey, including their five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, daughters Alana and Bella, and Cristiano Jr., who is 15 from a prior relationship.

Sadly, the couple faced a tragedy in April 2022 with the loss of Bella’s twin brother, Angel. It seems that life has its ups and downs, doesn’t it?

Reflecting on their relationship, Rodriguez had previously mentioned in a Netflix documentary their discussions around marriage. Specifically, she joked about the playful comments from friends about when their wedding would happen. “It’s not just up to me,” she said, hinting at the uncertainty in their future plans.

Ronaldo himself has alluded to the timing of a wedding, mentioning, “When we get that click… I know she understands what I mean.” It’s intriguing how some things just unfold in life, sometimes sooner than expected.

As for Ronaldo, he’s currently making waves in the professional league with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where he signed a two-year extension that keeps him with the club until June 2027. Quite the journey he’s on!
