Germany driver plows car into demonstrators in Munich

At least 20 people were injured when the driver plunged into the massive demonstration in Munich on Thursday morning.

Police say the suspect drove Mini Cooper into a crowd of people several injured after 10:30am

Officials said drivers have “secured” the area, adding that there is no further threat.

The incident occurred in an area on the road.

The presence of severe police has been reported in the area.

Police said two people were listed as seriously injured.

The morning strike was established by the trade union Verdi as city workers gather for increased wages, higher bonuses and three more days of holidays, the outlet added.

Witnesses believe the driver intentionally collided with the protesters.

“I went to the demonstration,” one witness told German. Outlet BR24. “I saw the man lying under the car. Then I tried to open the door, but it was locked.”

The man says police shot him in the car window.

Munich is holding the 61st Munich Security Conference. This brings together world leaders to discuss the challenges of global security policy from February 14th to February 16th.

Vance and Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky are scheduled to meet on Friday.

The event organizers have issued a post-crash statement.

“We were deeply saddened to learn that a tragic incident occurred in downtown Munich this morning. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families,” the meeting said of X.
