Nets vs. Timberwolves nominations
The Western Conference-leading Minnesota Timberwolves return to action tonight when they host the Brooklyn Nets.
BetMGM Sportsbook favors Minnesota by 7.5 points, which seems reasonable. The Timberwolves are in their second day of back-to-back games, but they have enough power to cover for a declining Nets team.
Brooklyn has lost its last two games by a combined 78 points and has dropped six of its last seven games, five of which were by double digits. This team has very limited scoring and overall star power, and new coach Kevin O’Ree has a difficult task ahead of him for the remainder of the season.
Minnesota was one of the talking points of the season, largely due to their defense and Anthony Edwards’ continued emergence as a star. The Timberwolves lead the NBA in points allowed per game (106.8) and Rudy Gobert is on track for another great defensive campaign. Gobert and Jaden McDaniels will provide defense, while Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns will handle scoring duties.
