NBA dunk contest selection
Ever since Mac McClung came out of nowhere to win last year’s NBA Dunk Contest, the basketball world has been excited to see who will throw the best dunk in Indianapolis tonight.
McClung is the obvious favorite to win and will enter this year at -190 to win again. He has a history of winning back-to-back dunk contests, but McClung is the heavy favorite so it’s not worth betting on him.
The other three participants are Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown (+420), Knicks forward Jacob Toppin (+600), and Heat guard Jaime Jaquez Jr. (+650).
I’m quick to rule out Brown simply because established star players rarely win dunk contests. This leaves the rookie duo of Toppin and Jaquez Jr., both with favorable odds.
