“We are extremely proud to participate in our first NFL regular season game in Berlin, and we’re eager to see Falcons fans from Germany and other parts of the world in November,” said a team representative. “I’ve felt the enthusiasm for the Falcons from our committed German fans long before I joined the NFL’s global program. Many have traveled to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and joined us for previous international games.”
Additionally, it’s exciting for fans in Berlin that the Falcons have recently signed kicker Rennie Krieg, a local talent who played for the Stuttgart Surge prior to his NFL career.
Last season wasn’t particularly stellar for either Atlanta or Indianapolis, both wrapping up with an 8-9 record. They just missed the postseason, finishing ninth in their respective conferences.
