They are back.
After taking a break for three years, Drake Maye and the New England Patriots are making a strong return to the playoffs.
On Sunday, January 11, fans will get a chance to see if the second-seeded team, boasting a 14-3 record, can prevail against Justin Herbert’s 11-6 Los Angeles Chargers in a critical wild-card battle at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
If you’re considering attending, it could rekindle the franchise’s glory days from the Brady-Belichick era. Tickets can be found on various primary and secondary markets such as Ticketmaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats, and GameTime.
After some searching, the lowest priced ticket available at the time was $191 (fees included) on Vivid Seats.
Seats in the 100 level start at around $320.11 including fees on Ticketmaster.
Before this wild-card match, head coach Mike Vrabel’s team ended the 2025 season with a win streak of three games, including a decisive 38-10 victory against the Miami Dolphins. Maye threw for a touchdown while completing 14 out of 18 passes. Treveyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stephenson each found the end zone as well.
While New England finished strong, Los Angeles wrapped up the season with two losses against other playoff teams—the Texans and the top-seeded Broncos.
The Chargers are now aiming for their first playoff win since 2018, following a defeat to the Patriots at Gillette.
“That game will reveal who we are and what type of football team we have,” said Chargers cornerback Taheeb Still.
I’m curious to see what kind of team LA will show up with this weekend.

About the Patriots vs. Chargers Matchup
It’s been a while since Los Angeles and New England faced off—back in December 2024, to be exact.
In that game, held in Gillette Stadium, the Chargers handily defeated the Patriots with a score of 40-7. Yet, a lot has shifted since then.
After a tough season in 2024 finishing 4-13, the Patriots brought in Mike Vrabel as head coach, replacing Jerod Mayo. Though they stumbled early, they quickly found their stride and closed out the season with 14 wins and just 3 losses.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles has been a formidable opponent, but the focus is on this upcoming wild card encounter.
“I think they’re gearing up for the Patriots,” former Patriots safety Devin McCourty commented. “The Patriots haven’t had a strong pass rush and the Chargers seem to like that matchup.”
