2025 Garden Cup Returns to Madison Square Garden
If you’re already excited about the 2026 US Open, here’s something to look forward to sooner.
The Garden Cup is scheduled to make its return to Madison Square Garden in New York on December 8th. This will mark its 12th edition.
This year’s lineup includes a mix of top players: No. 1 ranked Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus and No. 14 Naomi Osaka from Japan. Joining them will be No. 15 Tommy Paul from the U.S. and an anticipating return from Nick Kyrgios of Australia.
Besides the singles matches, fans can also look forward to a “mixed doubles finale.” It should be an exciting night for tennis lovers.
“I really enjoy playing in New York, so it’s wonderful to return to the Garden during my off days,” Sabalenka remarked. “Playing alongside Naomi, who just had such an incredible impact on the sport, makes it even more special.”
For both players, this occasion marks their first time competing at MSG. Interestingly, before this event, they hadn’t faced each other since the 2018 US Open, where Osaka triumphed with scores of 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
“Playing at Madison Square Garden holds significant meaning for tennis players. The venue’s history is unmatched in our sport, and I’m eagerly anticipating my match against Aryna in December,” added Osaka.
Interestingly, this four-player tournament isn’t the only tennis event happening in the Tri-State area that December.
A day earlier, on December 7th, the “Rock Racket” event will feature stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Francis Tiafoe, Amanda Anisimova, and Emma Radukanu at Prudential Center in Newark.
As Alcaraz stated, “…it’s going to be an unforgettable night of excellent tennis.”
Tickets for the 2025 Garden Cup will be available through various ticket platforms, with official sales starting September 12th.
It’s worth noting that Vivid Seats operates as a secondary market for ticket sales, where prices may fluctuate based on demand. They do offer a buyer protection guarantee, ensuring that your purchase is secure and timely.
