Ghislaine Maxwell Speaks Out on Jeffrey Epstein’s Death

Ghislaine Maxwell, the sole individual convicted in connection with Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, expressed her belief that Epstein would not have taken his own life. This assertion came from a transcript of an interview conducted in a Florida prison, which was released recently.

Epstein was discovered dead in his prison cell at the Federal Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan in 2019. His death was ruled a suicide, yet it sparked numerous conspiracy theories questioning the circumstances surrounding his passing.

Maxwell’s Perspective on Epstein’s Death

On Friday, the Department of Justice released transcripts and audio from an interview where Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche spoke with Maxwell in Tallahassee. During their conversation, she was asked whether she believed Epstein had committed suicide.

“I don’t think he died of suicide,” she stated, though she refrained from speculating on who might have killed him. She criticized what she described as pervasive mismanagement within the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

Concerns About Prison Conditions

Maxwell elaborated, saying, “There’s a third factor to it, which is currently experienced and has duties and inefficiency in the Bureau of Prisons, and total neglect of duties.” According to her, the environment in her prison was dangerous, suggesting that inmates could be harmed for a price. “Someone can kill you on a commission worth $25 to the prisoner,” she noted, indicating a troubling atmosphere.

Maxwell did not think outside forces were responsible for Epstein’s death, implying it could have been an internal prison issue. She remarked, “If it was actually a murder, I think it was an internal situation,” and stated she doesn’t believe it was an attempt to silence him.

“I have no reason to believe it,” she stated, adding that it seems implausible that Epstein wouldn’t have had opportunities for harm prior to his incarceration.
