More timeouts

He continued to sweat on the sideline Thursday.

Cager, who has been out since Aug. 13 with a groin injury, began camp as a likely candidate to make the team but could be in jeopardy ahead of cutdown day.

Brian Daboll called out two consecutive planned runs for Jones during team practice.

Jones stepped in both times on his surgically operated right knee, cutting powerfully and scoring solid gains.

Injury Report

Linebacker Diontae Johnson (ankle) is no longer in a walking boot but continues to work out alone on the sideline.

Daboll said tackle Evan Neal (ankle) will “probably” be available for Saturday’s game against the Jets.
