In a surprising turn during the 2024 season, Cam Scattebo made headlines by racking up significant rushing yards in Arizona college football. The New York Giants are interested, having selected him in the fourth round, and his remarks from Rookie Minicamp hint that he could win over fans as the 2025 season approaches.
Speaking candidly, Scattebo expressed that scoring a touchdown is fulfilling, but he finds greater joy in outmaneuvering opponents on his way to the end zone. “It’s great to score,” he noted, “but just picture it—someone passing by as we both head for the touchdown. That’s really the thrill.”
The Eagles will kick off the 2025 NFL season against the Cowboys.
During his senior year with the Sun Devils, Scattebo achieved impressive numbers: 1,711 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. Arizona State made a strong playoff run and almost upset Texas in the Peach Bowl, finishing the season with an 11-3 record.
Now, Scattebo is focused on making the Giants’ roster of 53 players. As he navigates his rookie year, he will be joining veterans Devin Singletary and Tyron Tracy Jr., who contributed notably to the team’s offense with five touchdowns and 839 yards.
Determined to prove any doubters wrong, Scattebo is committed to refining his elusive running style.
Reflecting on his previous season, he mentioned, “I didn’t do a lot of it last year. I was more about making contact, but if folks want to underestimate me, that’s their choice. I’ve dealt with that all through my life.”
