Daniel Jones tried to leave MetLife Stadium on Sunday but couldn't escape the boos.
After the team's 28-6 loss to the Vikings in the season opener, fans gathered at the player entrance to boo and jeer Jones, calling him “Danny Pennies.”
For Jones, the less-than-friendly remarks marked the beginning and end of a day in which he was met with loud booing inside the stadium following a shoddy performance in the loss.
In a video posted to social media, one fan can be heard yelling at Jones, “I need a million dollars.”
Jones, whose nickname is “Danny Dimes,” didn't seem to react to the heckling, even though other fans also seemed to be chiding the Giants quarterback.
Video posted to social media also showed fans attempting to burn Daniel Jones' jersey in the MetLife parking lot.
Jones, who signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the Giants in 2023, did not appear to react to the jeers as he walked down an aisle surrounded by metal barricades and flanked on either side by several stadium security guards.
Throughout the game, fans made no secret of their dissatisfaction with Jones and the Giants' performance in the season opener.
The quarterback didn't perform as well as the Giants hoped, completing just 22 of 42 attempts for 186 yards and two interceptions.
Jones didn't seem bothered by the booing while speaking with reporters inside the Giants' locker room.
“I feel like it's our job to give the guys something to root for, to play well and get results,” Jones said. “We take that seriously. The guys expect us to play well and we expect them to play well. We've got to do that.”

Jones has been heavily criticized after the Giants did not draft a quarterback and appeared ready to enter the season with their 2019 first-round pick at the helm.
The Giants finished the 2023 season with a 6-11 record, missing the playoffs.
