Buster Posey has had a perfect career, I swear.
The San Francisco Giants announced Monday that they have fired president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi and are replacing him with franchise legend Buster Posey. As a player (catcher), Posey won three World Series championship rings, and over the past few years, he’s been a part of the Giants front office. A one-time National League MVP and seven-time All-Star, Posey retired following the conclusion of the 2021 campaign. The next year in 2022, he joined San Francisco‘s ownership group. The 37-year-old lacks experience in terms of front office work, however, is known for having high baseball acumen.
Despite the lack of experience, the Giants have Posey as the guy to be the replacement for Zaidi, who finished his tenure with a 453-417 (.521) record and only one postseason appearance.

I remember watching Buster Posey all the way back in his college days at Florida State, I also remember Buster beating up on my Atlanta Braves on multiple occasions in the playoffs. I’ve seen plenty of Buster throughout his career and he’s somebody who I’ve always kept an eye on. So, it’s pretty cool to see him get to this point.
With that being said, it also makes me feel extraordinarily old — that I could do without.
