Giants introduce Jaxson Dart as the quarterback of the future in his NFL debut

Jackson Dart’s Memorable NFL Debut

Arlington – Jackson Dart had a debut in the NFL that he’s likely to remember. Not for the performance itself, but for what unfolded during the game—a tough loss where the Giants were outpaced by the Cowboys in a nail-biting 40-37 finish at AT&T Stadium.

“We’re going to put in the work, no question about it,” Dart remarked, about the team’s upcoming efforts.

He stepped into the game after the Giants’ struggle in the red zone and took three snaps in the fourth quarter, stepping in for the previously effective Russell Wilson.

Dart and head coach Brian Daball shared some conversation on the sidelines before unveiling the much-discussed DART package aimed at future quarterbacks.

“They told me to just be ready for short-yardage situations in the red zone,” Dart shared. “It was really just about preparation.”

He passed to Camskettebo, who made a significant 24-yard gain, bringing the ball close to the one-yard line, although there were concerns from the defense regarding Dart’s mobility.

“It’s a zone lead play; looking back, you can see how the linebacker opened things up,” Dart explained. “The offensive line did an excellent job, and Skat was able to capitalize.”

While Dart had some moments of success, he also faced a setback with a slip later in the quarter.

“Turf monster got me,” he joked. “That’s why I kept the ball—I just slid.”

However, injuries marred the game, with linebackers Darius Muasau (concussion) and Chris Board (chest) unable to finish the match. The special teams faced challenges with several key players sidelined.

Rookie Darius Alexander also made his NFL debut after recovering from earlier injuries. He played behind Elijah Garcia, recently elevated from the practice squad.

Inactive players included Andrew Thomas, WR Xavier Gipson, OL Evan Neal, TE Thomas Fidorn II, and QB Jamaice Winston.

In the first week, Onedale Robinson made a return alongside Gunner Orssuki on kickoff returns, while Tyrone Tracy Jr. filled in after Robinson missed practice due to ankle issues. Tracy recorded five returns for 132 yards, with a personal best of 30 yards.

“It felt good,” Tracy mentioned. “The first few were a bit off, but then I found my rhythm.”

Although Tracy didn’t start, Devin Singletary had five touches for 15 yards, and the running game featured contributions from multiple backs on early offensive plays.
