The Giants' Malik Neighbors injury scare is just that, and it doesn't seem any worse.
Coach Brian Daboll said the rookie wide receiver, who was placed on injured reserve Thursday with knee soreness, practiced Friday and is expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Neighbors caught five passes for 66 yards during the Giants' season-opening loss.
“No worries,” Daboll said. “He's ready to play.”
Daboll also said wide receiver Darius Slayton (concussion) was cleared to practice with contact on Friday and is “moving in a good direction” but still needs to clear another step in the protocols before his status can be determined.
But the more important variable revolved around Neighbours.
And his recent participation in practice suggests he could be the Giants' best prospect.
