And on the second day, the Giants did what they did on the first day. Strengthen their defensive front.
They entered the NFL Draft, which decided to find Dexter Lawrence’s tag team partner by adding defensive tackles to pack the run.
They chose Darius Alexander from Toledo with pick No. 65 on the first pick of the third round.
The 24-year-old Alexander spent six years in college and played up and down the defensive line.
It was no secret that Rakeem Nunez-Roches, DJ Davidson, Jordon Riley and Elijah Chatman wanted to fill in the depth charts and add to the depths of the Giants’ defensive interior.

This was the only player the Giants added on the second day of the draft, trading their second round (34th overall) in the trade-up to get quarterback Jaxson Dart to reach 25th in the first round in the first round.
In 2024, Alexander started 12 games, with 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
