‘Gigolos’ star beat woman to death while ‘blacked out’: documentary

The controversial reality show detailing the lives of Nevada prostitutes has taken a shocking turn after one of the stars is found guilty of slamming a woman into the death of a drug-fuel frenzy.

From 2011 to 2016, Showtime's reality show “Gigolos” captivated audiences by delving into the scandalous lives of five male escorts in Las Vegas. Four years later, one of the stars was arrested for killing a woman, as detailed in the new Paramount+ documentary, “Sin City Gigolo: Murder in Las Vegas.”

Akshaya “Ash” Kubiak, known on the show as Ash Armando on the show, was charged with the brutal death of 29-year-old Helleen Durai, according to court documents.

Prosecutors said on July 16, 2020 that Kubiak took psychedelic mushrooms before defeating Durai. Kubiak then called 911 and told the operator that Dulai was suffering from cardiac arrest, according to court documents.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Durai's body on their head and neck, along with evidence of blunt force trauma and found an injury indicating strangulation. Kubiak told investigators that Dulai “attacked him” first and later “attacked him,” according to court documents.

Detectives in Las Vegas also show attempts to clean the crime scene by finding blood inside the washing machine at home, watering or diluting blood in the bathroom.

In September 2021, Kubiak pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and felony counts of mayhem and was sentenced to eight to 20 years in prison.

The three-part Paramount+ series delves into Kubiak's life through the stories of his family, friends and former cast members, but does not interview Kubiak.

“We wanted to interview him,” coach Barbara Shearer said. Interview with TV Insider. “We absolutely interviewed him. I certainly wanted his voice. We're calling. He's there for the Showtime series, but we could get the call.”

Fox News Digital has requested Kubiak's attorney for comment.

For six seasons, “Gigolos” captivated the audience and brought back the curtains of legal prostitution. However, the series did not air without controversy. Critics have questioned the legality of the practices portrayed in the show.

Nevada is the only state in the country that allows prostitution, State Law Only permitted within approved facilities.

Kubiak began serving sentence in 2021. He joined “Gigolos” in the third season of the show and is a self-proclaimed “sex and fitness educator.” His Instagram account. His profile also shows that he is a father.

A native of Northern California, Durai graduated from Temple University and “enjoyed working with her kids.” According to her obituary. At the time of her death, The report shows The Durai worked as a personal trainer in Las Vegas.

“Through her journey, she served her life purpose to make a difference,” her obituary reads. “She touched every soul she touched and left a glow.”
