Shocking footage was captured on camera of a two-year-old girl being snatched from a vehicle by a giraffe while trying to feed it on a safari in Texas.
Two-year-old Paisley Toten was feeding animals in the back of her family’s pickup truck at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose on Saturday when a giraffe grabbed the bag of food and her shirt and lifted her into the air. KWTX reported.
“I pulled over to feed the giraffe and I turned around to look out the back window and I saw her just digging around in the area and he grabbed her and then I never saw her again,” Paisley’s father, Jason Toten, told the outlet.

Lindsay Merriman was in a car with her family, a few cars behind the Toten family, when she captured the terrifying moment when a giant giraffe bent its neck and grabbed the little girl’s shirt with its teeth, causing her mother to scream.
“My daughter was filming the giraffes eating from people’s hands and putting their heads through the sunroof,” Merriman told Storyful.
“We were three cars abreast behind a red truck and I saw a giraffe accidentally grab a little girl’s shirt and food and lift her off the bed of the truck.”
The video then shows the giraffe dropping Paisley into its mother’s arms.

Toten said it was an honest mistake by the giraffe, and that the giraffe let go of Paisley the moment his mother yelled “Hey!”
Luckily, Paisley and everyone else were uninjured.
The Washington Post has reached out to Fossil Rim for comment on the incident.
