Girl Scouts introduce new Exploremores cookie for the 2026 selling season

Girl Scout cookie season is back, and this year features a brand-new cookie called Exploremores.

On Tuesday, the Girl Scouts of the USA introduced this new offering, adding to the well-loved lineup that pops up in neighborhoods nationwide each year.

Hundreds of thousands of Girl Scouts will soon be out selling cookies, a delightful tradition that many look forward to.

Popular cookie brand introduces sugar-free options, but reactions vary

So, what’s the deal with Exploremores? This sandwich cookie boasts a combination of chocolate, marshmallow, and almond-flavored cream, reminiscent of rocky road. It first hit the scene in September and is said to echo flavors from two earlier products: S’mores and Toast-Yay!

In 2017, the S’mores cookie made a splash with its crunchy graham exterior and chocolate-marshmallow filling. Then in 2021, Toast-Yay! debuted with its unique French toast flavor topped with icing. Some folks, however, have voiced their dissatisfaction with the new addition.

One Reddit user expressed their lack of enthusiasm, suggesting that it feels like just another marshmallow cookie. “I’m not impressed. I’ll just stick with the other options,” they commented.

Others, though, are excited. One Redditor noted, “It looks delicious! I can’t wait to try it,” after showing it to their daughter, who was thrilled about the prospect of a new treat.

What’s on this year’s cookie roster?

Exploremores joins a total of 11 cookies that will be sold door-to-door, at booths, and online. Other available flavors include Adventurefuls, Caramel Chocolate Chip, Samoas (or Caramel Delights), and Dosidos (Peanut Butter Sandwiches).

Additionally, fans can grab Lemonade, Lemon Ups, and Thin Mints, among others.

How much will they cost?

The cookie prices haven’t been finalized since each troop sets its own rates, but expect to pay around $6 per box. “Proceeds stay local,” as the Girl Scouts emphasize, helping to foster confidence and learning in girls through various activities throughout the year.

A representative noted that boxes might sell between $5 and $7. The season generally continues until April, allowing ample time for cookie lovers to stock up.

Overall, there’s a mix of opinions on the new cookie, but excitement remains high for the season ahead.
