Girl Scouts have been sued by consumers for allegedly having “heavy metals” and pesticides in popular thin mints and other cookies.
A proposed class action lawsuit was proposed in federal court against the 113-year-old nonprofit and licensed cookie producers, ABC Baker and Little Brownie Bakery at Ferrero USA on Monday night in Brooklyn, New York.

Mayo said he bought numerous Girl Scout products, believing it was “quality and safe cookies,” including Adventure Full, Peanut Butter Pate and Caramel Delit.
She said that if Girl Scouts had revealed the existence of “dangerous toxins,” they would have either not bought cookies or “payed quite a bit less.”
The lawsuit seeks at least $5 million in damages from a US cookie buyer on suspicion of breach of New York's Consumer Protection Act.
Several chocolate makers, including Hershey, faced lawsuits after a December 2022 consumer report found high levels of cadmium, lead, or both in their products.
